What runs where · updated 1 October 2026

Canadian AI, stated precisely.

We build in Canada and choose Canadian providers where they do the job. That is not the same as everything running in Canada. This page lists every provider behind our tools, where your documents go, which providers are optional, and what works without US services today.

Today describes what is in place now. Goal describes what we are working toward and have not built.

01Today

Every part, and where it runs.

Part Runs on What it receives Required?
Tender data CanadaBuys (Government of Canada) and Alberta Purchasing Connection (Government of Alberta). Nothing from you. We read their public postings. Required
workspaceAlberta service Google Cloud Run, Montréal region. Google is a US company; the servers are in Canada. Your search words and the business profile sent with each request. Required for every hosted tool
Friendly endpoint Cloudflare, in front of elbowsupknivesout.warreandvavasour.com. Traffic may pass through Cloudflare locations outside Canada. Your requests, in transit. Optional — the direct Montréal address skips it
Commodity-code selection Cohere, a Canadian model company. Its processing location depends on Cohere’s own deployment. Your Alberta search words, or your business capabilities when matching, once per request. Optional — search falls back to keyword matching
Pro document sandbox E2B. A temporary sandbox, deleted when the run ends. It may run outside Canada. The public tender attachments for one opportunity, up to five per run. Pro only
Pro parsing and review Cohere Parse and Command A+. Same processing note as above. The attachments to convert to text, then the extracted text and your business context. Pro only
Pro accounts and payment Stripe (payment), Google (sign-in), Supabase (subscriber record). These may process outside Canada. Your email, subscription status and, at Stripe only, payment details. Pro only
Your AI assistant Whichever you choose: Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or another MCP app, under its own terms. Your conversation and every tool result. Your choice
This website DigitalOcean hosting, Cloudflare delivery, Google Fonts. Analytics: PostHog (US service), Google Analytics and Cloudflare Web Analytics, depending on configuration; the optional analytics we control are skipped when your browser sends Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control. Page visits and the technical details any website receives. Analytics Optional
AI Terminal device The workstation in your office. Your files, projects, notes and the harness that runs your tools. They are stored on the device; text leaves it only when a tool sends it to an agreed model provider. On your premises
AI Terminal support link Tailscale. Traffic is encrypted end to end with WireGuard; Tailscale’s coordination service sees device and connection details, not the contents. Encrypted traffic between your terminal and our support machine, when access is on. Optional — needed only for remote support
AI Terminal model calls The cloud model providers agreed for each tool. Cohere is our default where it does the job. The text a tool sends for that task. As agreed per tool

02Where your documents go

Follow one document through the system.

A public tender, with Pro

  1. The bid room downloads the tender’s published attachments into a temporary E2B sandbox, which may run outside Canada.
  2. Inside the sandbox, Cohere Parse turns PDFs and images into text.
  3. Cohere Command A+ reviews that text with your business context.
  4. The checklist and brief go back to your AI assistant. The sandbox is deleted.

Your own files

  • Free search receives no documents, only your search words and profile.
  • Pro processes public tender attachments. Don’t send confidential material through it; agree a channel with us first.
  • On an AI Terminal, your files stay on the device unless a tool you agreed to sends text to a model provider for a task.
  • Training: customer material does not automatically become training data. Any reuse needs your permission and a review.

03Without US services

What actually works if US providers are unavailable.

Today Keeps working

  • Files, projects and notes on an AI Terminal, and any tool that runs only on the device
  • CanadaBuys and Alberta Purchasing Connection themselves, directly on the government sites
  • If only Cohere is unavailable: free search, deadlines, matching and briefs, with keyword matching for Alberta searches

Today Stops working

  • Hosted workspaceAlberta search: it runs on Google Cloud, a US company, even though the servers are in Montréal
  • Pro sign-in, payment and document processing: they rely on Google, Stripe, Supabase and E2B
  • Terminal tools that call cloud models or hosted services
  • This website, which is hosted on DigitalOcean

04Continuity goals

What we are working toward. None of this is in place yet.

  1. Goal

    Local models on the terminal

Drafting, summaries and search over a cached copy of current tenders that keep working on the device when cloud services are down.

  2. Goal

    Canadian processing for Pro

Document parsing and review on a route where every step is confirmed to process in Canada.

  3. Goal

    Canadian-owned hosting

An option to run workspaceAlberta search on infrastructure owned and operated in Canada.

When a goal ships, it moves into the table above with the date. Questions about a specific provider: [email protected]. Our Privacy Policy covers how we handle personal information.
